Hypnosis Online Australia

arrange hyposis via Skype

The decision to book online hypnosis in Melbourne is becoming more and more popular as people are looking for ways to make the best use of their time.

It’s interesting…many people say to me: ‘Sonia, you’re the one I want to work with…but you I live so far away from you!’.

Nowadays, that’s no longer a problem; with a strong internet connection and cheap data, it makes more sense for those who can’t make it to my office in Bayswater to arrange Skype hypnotherapy from the comfort of their own homes.

How Online Hypnosis Works

Hypnosis can be safely and effectively performed over the internet by a professional consulting hypnotherapist, provided you have four components in place:

  • A strong broadband internet connection;
  • A free account with Skype or Zoom;
  • A webcam;
  • A comfortable recliner chair or a place to relax near your computer

If you have these four factors in place, then your one-on-one remote sessions will be equally as effective as if you were with me in person.

…But Isn’t ‘In Person’ Hypnosis More Effective?

The answer is: it depends on the hypnotherapist. If you choose an accredited professional, there is no difference in efficacy between live and remote hypnosis.

A skilled hypnotherapist gathers important data and diagnoses your negative beliefs during the first part of the consultation. At that time, she’s working out which therapeutic techniques she will apply.

Once your session begins, there are the three main tools a hypnotherapist uses to take you into trance:

  • The volume of her voice;
  • The tone of her voice;
  • The pace of her voice;

Since the voice is the primary tool used, then provided you have a good internet connection and adequate speakers on your computer, it makes no difference whether she is performing the hypnosis online or in person.

Your hypnotherapist is also watching you during this process, to gauge how you are responding and to manage any emotional reactions that may occur.

Once again, with a good internet connection and a webcam, all of this can be done very effectively in the comfort of your own home.

How To Choose The Best Hypnotherapist

To find the best hypnotherapist offering remote treatment, you have to do a little digging. If you’ve read my article on how to choose the best hypnotherapist, you’ll know that I highly recommend you get on the phone and ask lots of questions.

The number one factor in determining whether your hypnosis sessions will be successful is rapport. If you don’t trust your hypnotherapist, it’s highly unlikely that you’ll respond well to the therapy.

When people contact me, they often ask:

  • Where is your office located?

Neither of these factors are good indicators in choosing the person you work with. So many of my clients travel to Bayswater from all over Melbourne to see me because they’ve been burnt in the past by cheap hypnosis sessions that didn’t work.

Don’t get me wrong…I’m not saying more expensive is better; I’m saying the deciding factor should not be price or location.

Here’s What You Should Really Be Asking:

If you really want to know if your hypnotherapist is the real deal, you should ask her how long she has been practising.

Many hypnotherapists can’t make enough money, so they work in a ‘day job’ and see clients in their spare time. That means they have much less experience than a person who practises full-time.

At the end of the day, you should trust your own instincts. If, after talking to someone for a while, you feel they could be a good fit then go for it.
